Project Description
Maintenance dredging of the Morehead City Harbor, Range A and Range B. Work requires removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels since they were last dredged.
Dredging to be performed by an ocean certified hopper dredge, mechanical dredge (clamshell, dragline, or dipper), or hydraulic cutter suction dredge. The environmental window for hopper dredging has been extended from March 31, 2016 to May 1, 2016. Dredging depth is 43’ plus 2’ of allowable over dept.
Estimated quantity of material to be dredged is 665,000 CY. Government-furnished disposal area is the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS)
