The Morty barge, built by Corn Island Shipyard with a crane from Grandview, IN, features a steel hull and measures 188.2′ x 60′ x 12′, with a gross tonnage of 1,054 and a net tonnage of 315. It is certified with an International Load Line by ABS. The barge is equipped with two square 42″ x 85″ spuds, along with three spudwells and two CAT 7 Kagit RB90 3 Drum, Tier 3 spud winches. Designed with practicality in mind, the Morty includes two water-tight conex boxes that serve as offices and overhead steel storage with handrails for added safety. Powered by a 19-457 Multiquip 120 KW generator, the barge also features an Ingersol Rand 25 hp electric air compressor with an air dryer (105 cfm) and a 400 Amp Miller Electric C.C. welder, making it well-equipped for a variety of marine construction and dredging operations.
