Chief Operating Officer
Harry Stewart is the Chief Operating Officer of The Dutra Group, and President of each of its operating subsidiaries: Dutra Dredging Co., Dutra Construction Co. Inc., and San Rafael Rock Quarry, Inc. As such, Harry is responsible for operations associated with all business segments.
Harry holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and is a Registered Professional Engineer, and Licensed in California.
Most of Harry’s career has been with The Dutra Group starting in 1983. Prior to 1983, Harry performed geotechnical engineering for a variety of projects located in Northern California. With Dutra, Harry has held most all positions typical of a mining/dredging/marine construction company including project engineering, estimating, project management, plant management and general management.
Harry’s accomplishments have occurred in conjunction with projects for the Corps of Engineers, including work with San Francisco, Sacramento, Seattle, Anchorage, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Mobile, Jacksonville, Wilmington and New York Districts.
From 1994 thru 1997, Harry directed the San Francisco District’s Port of Oakland 42’ deepening project and the 50’ deepening project from 2007 thru 2011. In 2006 and 2007, Harry directed the Sacramento District Corps of Engineers Sacramento River Emergency Levee Program.
More recent projects include working along San Francisco’s waterfront at the West Marina Harbor and Brannon Street Wharf projects, and tsunami salvage with rescue and repair of the Crescent City Harbor Inner Boat Basin.
Harry has been actively involved with the recent acquisition of the Hopper Stuyvesant and is playing a key role with implementation of business development and operational strategies for the dredge.
Harry is married with young daughters, and enjoys exercise, golf and family.
