Project Description

Suuyvesant Dredging and Pump-Off in one continuous operation (24/7). The Headland Work Area extends from Latitude 29º 07′ 35″N, Longitude 90º 09′ 11″W to Latitude 29º 11′ 16″N, Longitude 90º 03′ 10″W.

The beach and dune fill sediments will be mined from a borrow area located on Ship Shoal within the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Offshore Continental Shelf (OCS) Lease Blocks South Pelto 13 and 14, approximately 30 nautical miles (NM) southwesterly from the Work Area.

The borrow area is centered at Latitude 28º 54′ 47″N, Longitude 90º 37′ 12″W.

Project Description

Project consists generally of on-call dredging at the Port of San Francisco, including mobilization and demobilization, hydrographic surveying, dredging, dredge material transportation for in-Bay disposal, ocean disposal to beneficial reuse sites, and crane lifting services, all as set forth in the construction contract documents.

Project Description

The Canaveral Port Authority has contracted Dutra Dredging to widen and deepen the main channel at Port Canaveral, Florida. The work consists of dredging approximately 3 million cubic yards of material with disposal in an offshore site.

Dutra recently mobilized the Derrick Barge Paula Lee and two split-hull dump scows, the 5000 cubic yard CK7 and 3000 cubic yard DS6 from their home base in San Rafael, California, to the job site via the Panama Canal. Work began in May 2014.

This contract marks a return to East Coast clamshell dredging for The Dutra Group after a period of focusing operations on the West Coast. Management and the project staff look forward to a successful 2015 completion.
