Project:  Blair Waterway Widening, Bridge Reach and Inner

Reach - Phase 2

Project Duration: Oct 2005 ~ Mar 2006

Purpose: Widen the Blair waterway through demolition of

structures, fencing, barriers, transmission towers, dredging

and excavation

Construction Activities:

  • BRC site demolition involving selective removal of ashpalt pavement, storm drainage facilities, fencing, salvage
    of concrete barriers
  • Pier 4 demolition consisting of removal of 440 lineal feet of existing wharf structure including asphalt and ballast
    deck surfacing, abandoned utility lines
  • Relocatioin of existing navigation light structures
  • Demolition of two existing TPU transmission towers
  • Structural improvements at Pier 4 involving new concrete bullrail
  • Dredging and disposal of 1,300,000 CY of material and disposal in open water
  • Construction of rock slope protection involving filter blanket, rock riprap, and riprap overlay materials
  • Water quality monitoring
